Place my Lab Up for Adoption
I want to place my lab up for adoption. How does it work?
We do not judge on why people want to place their Labrador up for adoption. We totally understand that our lives alter and what we thought would be a lifetime commitment can change. The most important thing to us, is your Labrador and their welfare.
Team Edward’s aim is to find the right home for your Labrador where they will be cared for and loved for the rest of their life.
To keep disruption for all to a minimum, we may start looking for a new home for your Lab whilst they are still living with you. However if circumstances dictate that you need to rehome immediately, we can take your dog into kennels. We do however try to keep their time in kennels as short as possible.
When placing your Labrador for adoption we need as much information about your dog as possible. This means all the good things and perhaps the more challenging characteristics of your Lab so we find the right home for them, first time.
Please note we are unable to take cross breeds as we are a small charity and concentrate on Labrador rescue
We need you to sign release papers for your dog, signing over full responsibility to Team Edward Labrador Rescue
You need to be mindful that we can rehome Labradors very quickly and so your decision to handover to Team Edward for rehoming, should not be taken lightly.
All new owners sign a similar undertaking to say they will look after the Lab. If in the unlikely event the new home doesn't work - for whatever reason - the Labrador will be returned to Team Edward.
Please be aware that everyone involved with Team Edward Labrador Rescue is a volunteer.
If you are in urgent need of help and we cannot respond in time please contact other rescues within your area.
We will respond as soon as possible and always reply to emails and messages
